New Glasgow Police say the 82-year-old man who was reported missing on Monday in New Glasgow, has been located safe.  Police say the man was located in the area of the Pioneer Trail in New Glasgow and was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital by Emergency Health Services with assistance from New Glasgow Police and Volunteer Ground Search and Rescue Team members.

New Glasgow Police are thanking all of the volunteer Ground Search and Rescue teams from across Nova Scotia for their tireless efforts in assisting with the search. They also thank the RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, the Nova Scotia Department of Emergency Management, Emergency Health Services, and the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Air Services Division.  New Glasgow Police also thank the public for sharing information, providing tips, and helping circulate social media posts.

Big drops in gasoline and diesel prices in Nova Scotia as the Interrupter was invoked overnight.   The price of regular gasoline decreased by 10.4 cents per litre, leaving the minimum pump price for regular self-serve gasoline at $1.81 per litre in the local area.  The price of diesel decreased by 9.4 cents per litre, putting the minimum pump price for self-serve diesel at $2.31 per litre locally.

Canadian broadcasting icon Lloyd Robertson has died at 92.  His celebrated career began in radio in 1952, and later anchored C-B-C’s national newscast before joining C-T-V, where he became chief anchor and senior editor, signing off with “That’s the kind of day it’s been.”   Known for his credibility and hands-on journalism, Robertson covered defining events including the September 11th attacks and became a trusted mentor to generations of reporters.  His honours included the Order of Canada, Canada’s Walk of Fame and multiple lifetime achievement awards before he left the anchor desk in 2011.

WestJet flight disruptions eased Tuesday as the airline recovered from a brief strike by its flight attendants.

Sixteen flights had been cancelled by late afternoon, compared with more than 300 on Monday despite an early tentative agreement with CUPE.

WestJet says restoring normal operations will take time as aircraft and crews are repositioned across its network.

Passengers travelling through Thursday can change or cancel bookings without fees and are advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
