Internationally acclaimed 21st-century shanty singer-songwriter and BBC Radio 2 acknowledged folk artist Chris Ricketts brings his genial sense of humour, stories and songs of the sea to New Glasgow. Chris has visited Canada 5 times in the past but with only one visit to the East Coast which was last year where he made his first impact at the Fundy Sea Shanty Festival in New Brunswick. This led to appearances and airplay with CBC Radio. Chris Ricketts returns with an album of shanties and self-penned songs called 'Songs In The Key Of Sea'. Widely loved this album re-booted Chris' love of performing and writing. Chris mastered his craft working cruise ships. Now a father, a touring musician and part-time teacher in secondary schools, Chris' passion for performing allows him to travel the world with his self-penned songs and versions of some familiar traditional shanties.
