A trial of a U.K.-developed coronavirus vaccine has found that it’s safe and induces an immune reaction, according to preliminary results. The research, published in the Lancet medical journal yesterday (Monday) lays out evidence from a Phase 1 and 2 trial of more than 1,000 healthy adults. It shows that the coronavirus vaccine induced strong immune responses up to Day 56 of the ongoing trial. The vaccine is being jointly developed by drug maker AstraZeneca and scientists at the University of Oxford. While people who received the vaccine did experience more side effects than people in the control group, the most serious side effects have most frequently been fatigue and headaches.
