Because of the windy conditions today, Northumberland Ferries has had to cancel some crossings between Caribou and Wood Islands. The 7:00am and 10:00am sailings out of Wood Islands and the 8:30am and 11:45am crossings out of Caribou are all cancelled today. Northumberland Ferries will provide an update later on the day’s other scheduled sailings.

Pictou County District RCMP is seeking information on the whereabouts of 46-year old Jason Sterling Carpenter of MacLellans Brook, who is wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.
Carpenter is charged with more than twenty offences stemming from an investigation into impaired driving that occurred on Sunday. The RCMP says charges include two counts of Assaulting a Peace Officer with Weapon; Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm; and Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.
Carpenter is described as approximately 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He may be driving a red, older model GMC Sierra extended cab pick-up truck.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jason Sterling Carpenter is asked to refrain from approaching him and to contact Pictou County District RCMP or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand opened a meeting of foreign ministers from the Group of Seven countries on Tuesday in Ontario’s Niagara region by calling for continued collaboration to tackle many of the world’s problems, from Russia’s war in Ukraine to the fragile ceasefire in Gaza Anand told her counterparts that meeting global challenges requires global partnerships. The G-7 ministers were to take part in a working dinner on Tuesday focused on global peace and stability.
Anand also invited ministers from eight other countries, saying the geopolitical and trade issues we are facing transcend the G7 and our borders.
Boston’s newly elected mayor is wrapping up a four-day tour of Nova Scotia today.
Michelle Wu will be in Lunenberg, for the Boston tree cutting ceremony, continuing a tradition that started after a major Halifax explosion in 1917.
Nova Scotia sends a tree to Boston each holiday season to thank the American city for providing supplies and medical support after the disaster in 1917.
Wu arrived in town over the weekend and also participated in Remembrance Day activities yesterday in Halifax.
The Professional Women’s Hockey league is coming to Halifax. The league has announced two games at the Scotiabank Centre, with tickets on sale to the general public next Friday. On December 17th the Toronto Sceptres and Montreal Victoire will go head to head, followed by the Ottawa Charge and Boston Fleet on January 11th. It’s part of the P-W-H-L takeover tour, to give fans “a chance to experience the competitiveness” of the regular season in their own communities.
