R-C-M-P say they were searching for a possible impaired driver hours before a two-vehicle crash killed five people on Saturday night in the Annapolis Valley. Police say the vehicle they were looking for was the same blue Honda Civic that crashed into another vehicle on Highway 101 near Falmouth on Saturday night. The Mounties are looking for information from the public regarding the whereabouts of the car before 7:20 p-m., when they received a report about a possible impaired driver; and prior to the collision, which occurred about 11:12pm. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, a 50-year-old man died later in hospital, and a 29-year-old man from British Columbia was listed in critical condition.

Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to shuffle his cabinet today.
A government official, who was not authorized to speak about the appointments before they’re made public, says the cabinet will include a representative from every province and the North.
After his first cabinet was announced on March 14th, Carney was criticized for consolidating some of the smaller ministerial roles into one larger portfolio, including women, labour, youth, official languages and diversity.
A leaner cabinet will appeal to some business leaders and insiders who said Carney can underscore his seriousness about being laser-focused on the economy.
Statistics Canada says there was a sharp drop in return trips from the U-S by Canadians for the fourth consecutive month.
The agency says the number of Canadians returning by car from the U-S in April fell on a year-over-year basis, dropping over 35-per cent.
Canadians going back home by plane was down 20-per cent from a year ago.
Residents have cancelled trips to the U-S in the wake of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian goods and his desire for Canada to become the 51st state.
