Another jump in the price of gasoline as the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board invoked the interrupter clause. The Board says the change is necessary due to significant shifts in the market price of gasoline, and the increase of 9.5 cents per litre took effect at midnight Monday night. The minimum price for gasoline is 209.2 cents per litre locally. The price of diesel oil is not affected by the interruption.
The head of the R-C-M-Ps tactical team at the time of Nova Scotia’s mass shooting has fired heavy criticism at the force for the way it treated team members following the tragedy. Retired Corporal Tim Mills told an inquiry that it’s “absolutely disgusting” that eight part-time members of the 13 member team were sent back to general duties a week-and-a-half after the rampage instead of being allowed to decompress. Mills says a request to have the part-timers work at headquarters with the full time team members for a period of two weeks was rebuffed although he doesn’t know by whom. He says he continued to push to find out information but decided by late 2020 that he couldn’t work for a “broken organization” and he eventually retired in July, 2021.
