The Nova Scotia Energy Board says the Interrupter Clause for the price of diesel was invoked last night due to significant shifts in the market price of diesel. Diesel prices rose by 6.3 cents per litre overnight in Nova Scotia. That means the minimum pump price for diesel is now $1.48 per litre locally. There’s no change in the prices of gasoline.

Trade movement deals at the Group of Seven summit in Alberta were overshadowed Monday by escalating violence in the Middle East.
U-S President Donald Trump announced late in the day he’d be leaving the leaders’ summit early because of the crisis in Israel and Iran.
Trump told other G-7 leaders before their working dinner that he had to go back, noting it was very important and that he wished he could stay for Tuesday’s meetings.
New England governors say tariffs and anti-Canadian rhetoric by the United States government is taking a bite out of tourism, with some states seeing a drop of up to 60 per cent in visitors from Canada. Premier Tim Houston and the other Atlantic Premiers, and Ontario’s Rob Ford, met in Boston Monday with New England Governors. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey said Canadian tourism to her state and others such as Maine, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont is down between 20 and 60 per cent compared with last year. Maine’s Governor said the meeting was a chance for the leaders to forge stronger ties and continue building relationships in the face of –quote — “dangerous rhetoric coming from Washington.” Premier Houston says everyone is trying to deal with a situation that was “thrust” upon them.
Nova Scotians can soon access more diagnostic imaging reports through YourHealthNS. Mammogram, MRI, CT and PET scan reports will be available in the app as early as June 30th. Health Minister Michelle Thompson says the addition of the reports is part of the province’s continued commitment to empower Nova Scotians to better manage their health care. For each type of scan, the report includes the body part examined, the reason for the scan, results and a comparison with any previous scans.
On Monday, flag raising ceremonies were held throughout Pictou County to kick off Pride Week. Flag raisings were held by the Town of Pictou; Municipality of Pictou County; the Towns of New Glasgow, Stellarton and Westville; and Pictou Landing First Nation.
During the flag raising in New Glasgow, Mayor Nancy Dicks said the gathering was not just to raise the flag, but to raise voices, hopes and the commitment to a community where acceptance, diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just ideals, but lived realities.
