The fall lobster season in LFA 25 got underway Sunday with the setting of gear after being delayed several days because of poor weather conditions.
Trap setting day was supposed to be last Wednesday.
After a DFO weather call on Friday, it was decided that the season would open Sunday with the setting of gear, but there would be no fishing Sunday.
Lobster fishing in LFA 25 started as of 4:00am today.
New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation of several thefts from vendors that occurred at Pictou County Ribfest in downtown New Glasgow.
Early Sunday morning, between 3:00am and 6:00am, someone stole several items from vendors .
Items ranged from equipment to food.
New Glasgow Regional Police are asking anyone that may have video, camera footage or dashcams to check their footage and report it to police as it may be valuable to the police investigation.
Residents of a subdivision north of Halifax came together on the weekend to say thank you to first responders who fought wildfires that destroyed 150 homes in the area three months ago.
